Surviving and Thriving: Sharing Victories Over OCD

When: Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 9:00 am- 4:15 pm
Where: Palace Arts Center, 300 S. Main Street, Grapevine, Texas (Dallas area)

The conference is free of charge and is open to anyone who has OCD, thinks they might have OCD, knows someone who has OCD, works with or is interested in working with OCD, or wants to learn more about OCD.

About Us

Robin Zasio, Psy.D., LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been specializing in treating anxiety and related disorders for the past 14 years utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention techniques. After developing a thriving private practice, she developed The Anxiety Treatment Center, Inc. in 2005, and more recently, The Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center, both located in Sacramento, CA, which she currently owns and directs. Dr. Zasio continues to maintain her private practice providing individual, group and family therapy services, in addition to supervising interns who are learning to treat anxiety conditions.

Dr. Zasio was the President of the Sacramento Valley Psychological Association from 2003-2005 and currently remains on the board as the Continuing Education Chair and Media Representative. Dr. Zasio also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board, Clinical Advisory Board, and the Speakers Bureau for the International OCD Foundation, and is on the Advisory Board for the Sacramento Chapter of the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill where she writes a Doctor's Column for their monthly newsletter. She is a member of the International OCD Foundation, American Psychological Association, Trichotillomania Learning Center, and Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. Dr. Zasio is also a featured doctor on the hit series Hoarders, airing on A & E.

Brian McPeak is currently the Director of an IT Strategic Sourcing Organization for a Fortune 100 company. His group provides leadership for the worldwide procurement and distribution of IT hardware, software and services. Brian began his most recent career in 1994. His background includes managing various global programs throughout IT Sourcing including Enterprise Software Licensing strategies and Global Hardware Sourcing Councils. Brian McPeak received a B.A. from California State University, Sacramento with a special concentration in Strategic Management.

Brian was diagnosed with OCD in 2007 and began treatment in that same year at The Anxiety Treatment Center. Brian's story is that of success and he is now a spokesperson and advocate of successful OCD treatment. To quote Brian, "My story is a story of hope for others! Effective OCD treatment is available. I'm living proof. If I can help even one person find their way to managing OCD, I will have been successful." Brian has touched the lives of others through the sharing of his journey. He has been featured on Lifestyle Magazine TV and now serves as Vice President of OCD Sacramento, Inc.

Ann Clark, ASW earned her Master's in Social Work in 2005 from California State University, Sacramento. She is preparing for her final licensure exam. Ann completed the majority of her 3,200 pre-licensure hours at California State University Sacramento's Psychological Counseling Services Center (PCS) where she conducted individual, couple, and group psychotherapy. At PCS, Ann treated a diverse student population with a variety of issues including the full spectrum of Anxiety Disorders. Additionally, she co-facilitated a women's issues support group, provided campus outreach, and presented on mental health topics at campus wide events.

Currently, Ann works in the Intensive Outpatient Program at the Anxiety Treatment Center, where she has completed specialized training in the treatment of moderate to severe Anxiety Disorders. Prior to graduate school, Ann worked in the non-profit sector on issues ranging from homelessness to child welfare. Ann's primary areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues with individuals, couples, and families. In her private practice internship, under the supervision of Robin Zasio, Psy.D, LCSW, Ann offers an approach tailored to individual need and draws from cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic theories. She is a member of the National Association for Social Workers and The Society for Clinical Social Work.

Jennie Gault, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in treating Anxiety disorders utilizing Exposure and Response Prevention techniques. In addition to her work on staff at The Anxiety Treatment Center, Ms. Gault has a private practice in which she offers individual therapy to children, teens, and adults. In addition to working with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Jennie also specializes in treating Trichotillomania and compulsive skin picking and leads the only therapy group for these conditions in the greater Sacramento area. She provides family therapy to address how the family can best support their loved one, and psycho-education about Trichotillomania and skin picking.

She has been a presenter at the International OCD Foundation Conference and was featured in an article in Sacramento Magazine. As an intern, she received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy. Jennie is a member of the Sacramento Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, and The Trichotillomania Learning Center.

Jeff Bell is a nationally-known author, news anchor, and motivational speaker. Since the publication of his OCD memoir, "Rewind, Replay, Repeat," in 2007, he has traveled extensively, lending his support to numerous mental health organizations, including Mental Health America, which has honored him with its prestigious forWARDS Award, for "moving the cause of mental health forward." Jeff serves as a national spokesperson and board member for the International OCD Foundation and is donating a portion of the proceeds from his new book, "When in Doubt, Make Belief" to the organization. His Psychology Today blog offers readers an intimate look at life with OCD and includes the contributions of many IOCDF Scientific Advisory Board members. Since 2007, Jeff has served as a recurring motivational speaker for The Anxiety Treatment Center of Sacramento. A 20-year veteran of radio and television news, Jeff currently co-anchors afternoons at KCBS Radio, the CBS Network’s San Francisco flagship.
